Recognition and Certificates inside Microsoft Teams
Give kudos that come with a real, verifiable badge, straight from the message box in Microsoft Teams. Then add the same app to any meeting and issue attendance certificates to everyone who showed up.
- Give kudos from any chat or channel: pick a teammate, a badge and a message. They get the certificate by email, the team sees the card
- My badges tab: every employee sees what they have earned, with view, copy and Add to LinkedIn links
- Meeting certificates: issue to everyone who attended, using the Teams attendance report and a minimum-attendance threshold
- Recognition tab for admins: bulk issue from your directory, leaderboard and feed. One API key, connected once

Recognition people can keep, in the tool they already use
A reaction disappears in the feed. A badge is a verifiable record the employee can show on LinkedIn, in a review, or to their next employer.
People & HR teams
Values awards, work anniversaries and peer recognition programmes that run inside Teams instead of a separate tool.
Managers
Recognise good work in the channel where it happened. One click, and the badge is issued and the card is posted.
Training & enablement
Run a training session as a Teams meeting and issue completion certificates to everyone who attended.
Compliance & safety
Safety briefings, policy walkthroughs and toolbox talks, with a certificate per attendee and an attendance threshold.
Internal communities
Communities of practice, mentoring circles and hackathons that want to recognise contributors.
Customer & partner training
Webinars and onboarding calls held in Teams, certified for the people who joined.
Set up in 3 steps
One admin connects IssueBadge once. Everyone else just uses the app.
Add IssueBadge to Teams
Install IssueBadge from the Teams app store, or ask your Teams admin to approve it for the organisation. The app signs you in with your Microsoft account, so there is no separate login.
Connect your IssueBadge account
Open the Recognition tab. In IssueBadge open Settings → API, copy the key, paste it in and click Connect IssueBadge. Every badge given in Teams is issued from that account, and the badges you have designed there become the choices in the kudos dialog.
Give kudos, or certify a meeting
In any chat or channel, click the IssueBadge icon under the message box and choose Give kudos. Pick the teammate, the badge and a sentence about why. The badge is issued, they get it by email, and the recognition card appears in the conversation.
For meetings, add the IssueBadge tab to the meeting. After it ends, open the tab, set the minimum attendance, and click Issue certificates. Attendees come from the Teams attendance report.
Everything issued shows up in each person's My badges tab and in the Recognition leaderboard.
Frequently asked questions
Does everyone need an IssueBadge account?
No. One admin connects the organisation's IssueBadge account. Everyone else signs in with their Microsoft account inside Teams and simply gives or receives badges.
Who can give kudos?
Anyone the app is installed for, to any member of the chat or channel they are in. Admins can also issue to people from the directory in bulk from the Recognition tab.
Where does the meeting attendance come from?
From the Teams attendance report of the meeting, which Microsoft generates a few minutes after the meeting ends. The organiser opens the tab, sets a minimum attendance percentage and issues to everyone above it. While the meeting is still running, the tab shows the participant list instead.
What does the recipient get?
An email from IssueBadge with their certificate, a card in the Teams conversation, and the badge in their My badges tab with view, copy and Add to LinkedIn links. Certificates are verifiable from the public link.
Is the API key safe?
It is stored server-side for your organisation and never sent to the browser or to Microsoft. Only the admin who connected it can replace or remove it.
Which Microsoft permissions does the app use?
Sign-in with your Microsoft identity, reading basic directory profiles for the people picker, and reading the attendance report of meetings you organise. It never posts on your behalf; the kudos card is sent by you.
Recognition that outlasts the chat
